What is a Natal Chart?
TAURUS - "I HAVE, THEREFORE I AM."
MARS KEYWORDS: Energy, aggressiveness, competitive, decisive, action, initiative, impulsiveness, adventurous, quick, rapid, physical energy, headstrong, courage, assertiveness and rash.
Mars is in Taurus from February 14, 2019 until March 31, 2019.
Mars is the planet of assertion and drive. Mars (along with the Sun) is the testosterone in the chart. It will describe the degree of force that we go after what we want. Depending on the sign that Mars is in, it will tell us whether we are forceful and confrontational or if we prefer to sit back and watch. It will also reveal what motivates us and what desires drive us most powerfully. The house that Mars occupies in your Natal Chart or Solar Return is where these characteristics will manifest the most.
Since Mars is a testosterone filled, competitive and aggressive planet, Mars in Taurus has an insatiable desire for financial security, after all, Taurus does rule the 2nd house of money, earned income, personal finance, financial gain, personal possessions, financial freedom, bank balance, budgets, cash, checks, currency and your earning capacity.
The sign of Taurus and the 2nd house is also the inheritance and legacies of the marriage partner because it is the 8th house of the partner. If your 8th house in your chart is the spouse's or partner's money, then it would stand to reason that the 2nd house in your natal chart is their 8th house. See how that works? The houses are always equal, yet opposite of one another. So while the 8th house in your chart is what you inherit, the 2nd house in your chart is what your partner inherits.
Taurus and the 2nd house also tells what you are likely to invest in or spend your money on. It will also tell where you keep your money and who you will lend money to. Taurus and the 2nd house is also the 'vision' that you have for yourself and your financial standing. Look up the word 'vision' so you are well aware of what you 'envision' for yourself while considering what rules your 2nd house and what planets you have in the 2nd house. In the eyes of Mars in Taurus, whoever has the most money, WINS!
Mars in Taurus shows a very strong desire for money and will put forth a lot of energy toward creating more money. This includes acquiring possessions. The Good news is this is practical energy, so when you are making more money, you will only do things that will give you results. In other words, you will not waste your time on something that is not working or that is too risky.
As the planet of assertiveness and aggression, Mars in the sign of Taurus pulls no punches when it is acquiring money. Taurus is a very practical sign so there should be no wasting of monetary energy with this placement. Since Mars in Taurus is so financially focused, Mars will not be halted, swayed or detoured if limitations or obstacles are in the way. Mars in Taurus will just keep on going with hesitation or reservation when and where money is involved. Mars in Taurus may be slow but it is steady, determined and on course. Mars in Taurus is not the placement for the person who loses their wallet. If Mars in Taurus knows where anything is, its the wallet, including how much is in it.
Mars in the sign of Taurus is actually in its detriment, which means it is like a fiesty child throwing a temper tantrum in the grocery store. Basically, it acts out inappropriately at the wrong time and wrong place. The Taurus motto says, "I have therefore I am" so Taurus will throw a fit and take its toys and go home if it does not get what it wants. Mars is the ancient 'original' ruler of Scorpio, while Pluto is the modern day ruler of Scorpio. Since Mars is Scorpio's ancient ruler, that means it is still Scorpio's ruler to this day. That makes Mars in Scorpio's opposite sign, which is Taurus, thereby making this a 'detriment'. Taurus takes ownership of money and personal possessions saying, "That's mine!" while Scorpio takes ownership of money and people saying, "What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine, and by the way you're mine too."
Taurus is a slow moving sign, so often times those with Mars in Taurus in the natal chart will have a slow approach to making money but it will be steady and it will payoff in the long run. Mars in Taurus also has painstaking patience when it comes to acquiring wealth. They know hard work pays off and it will, eventually. Mars in Taurus has a knack for making things out of metal or stone (something earthy) which can also bring them more money.
The energy of Mars can actually slow down the progression of money due to haste and material detours, obstacles and limitations that are typically self-inflicted. Mars wants you to respond quickly but Taurus is a slow methodical moving sign. So Mars gets frustrated wanting to go faster and more aggressively for what it wants. Caution will slow you down, especially if that is what you need.
